 NATIONAL PRIMARY SCHOOLS AND YEAR 7 CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS - 3 MARCH 2024 

​

 Sienna Lavine became the first athlete from our club to win a medal in a national cross country championships when she won the silver medal for finishing 2nd in the Year 6 Girls event at these prestigious championships. Competing over a distance of 2700 metres at Prestwold Hall, Loughborough, Sienna finished 2nd out of the large field of 253 finishers from the length and breadth of the country.

 WEST YORKSHIRE CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE - RACE 4 - OULTON - 10 DECEMBER 2023 

 

 In extremely muddy conditions, Sienna Lavine made it 4 wins out of 4 in the Under 11 Girls age group to clinch the overall winners shield for the 2nd year in succession. With Ava Flaherty finishing 15th, Ava Austin 16th and Hope Prentice 24th, our U11 Girls finished 2nd in the team race and that gave them 2nd place overall in the team competition. This is the first time that our club has won medals in the team competition in the West Yorkshire Cross Country League, so well done to them.

 

 WEST YORKSHIRE CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE - RACE 3 - SOUTH LEEDS - 18 NOVEMBER 2023 

 

 Sienna Lavine made it 3 wins in succession in the Under 11 Girls race, finishing 16 seconds clear of her nearest rival. Ava Austin finished 18th and Ava Flaherty 21st to give us 2nd place in the Under 11 Girls team race. Toby Johnson and Max Wainwright both ran well to finish 14th and 16th in the Under 11 Boys race.

 WEST YORKSHIRE CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE - RACE 2 - WAKEFIELD - 29 OCTOBER 2023

 Sienna Lavine was first again in the Under 11 Girls race, winning the race by a considerable margin.

 Our Under 11 Girls team of Sienna Lavine (1st), Ava Flaherty (18th) and Ava Austin (19th) came 3rd in the U11 Girls team race.

 WEST YORKSHIRE CROSS COUNTRY LEAGUE - RACE 1 - NUNROYD PARK - 8 OCTOBER 2023

 Sienna Lavine carried on where she left last year, winning the Under 11 Girls race in the first race in this year's West Yorkshire Cross Country League. Sienna was 7 seconds clear of her nearest competitor when she crossed the finish line.

​

CLUB CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS - We held our Club Cross Country Championships at Pontefract Park on Sunday, 17th September 2023, starting at 10.00 am.

​

 Winners within each age group were as follows:-

 Under 11 Girls - Hope Prentice

 Under 11 Boys - Toby Johnson

 Under 13 Boys - Julian Rutkowski

 Under 15 Boys - Tom Shinkins

 Under 17 Ladies - Julia Rutkowska

 Senior Ladies - Susie Hinchcliffe

 Senior Men - Scott Daly

 West Yorkshire Cross Country League 2023 - This league caters for all age groups from Under 11s to seniors.  Dates and venues for the 2023 season are:-

Race 1 - 8th October 2023 (Sunday) - Nunroyd Park, Yeadon.

Race 2 - 29th October 2023 (Sunday) - Thornes Park, Wakefield.

Race 3 - 18th November 2023 (Saturday) - Middleton, South Leeds.

Race 4 - 10th December 2023 (Sunday) - Oulton, Rothwell.

From this year, entries will be on line at www.race-results.co.uk

 Race 1 - 8th October 2023 - Nunroyd Park - Sienna Lavine came 1st in the Under 11 Girls race.

​

 Northern Athletics Cross Country Relay Championships 2023 - These championships will be held at Graves Park, Sheffield on Saturday, 21st October 2023. Competitions are held for U11s, U13s, U15, U17s and Seniors. There are 3 stages in each age group except Senior Men, which has 4 stages, so we need at least 3 in each age group and at least 4 senior men. Entries need to be submitted by the club, so please inform Cyril Jones prior to 1st October if you wish to compete.

 National Primary and Year 7 Cross Country Championships - 25 March 2023

 Sienna Lavine finished 4th out of 162 in the Year 5 age group in these national championships at Prestwold Hall, Loughborough.
